Hmmm.
Interesting side note to this... MixW, a well sold and well liked PSK
(plus MUCH more) software puts you right at 7040 as the default
frequency on 40 Meters. I've always wondered about that. On 20M, the
suggested freq. is 14070. Which is where most of the PSK can be found.

I've been hearing PSK on 7040 from time to time. Perhaps that's why.
MixW comes from the Ukraine. I believe that they and that general part
of the world use 7030 as the QRP frequency. 7040 is on the edge of the
SSB allocation in their much smaller 40 meter Ham band. It MAY be the
common 40-meter PSK frequency in Europe. I don't know.=20
PSK was a "low power" mode a year or so ago. Lately I've been very
commonly working stations running 100 watts and a few at several hundred
watts, using their linears at the maximum permissible "continuous duty"
output.=20
Even at QRP levels, I think it's a bad idea to mix modes. Too many
digital ops can't read CW, so a CW signal is just another 'spur' to be
ignored. And so is the PSK signal to a lot of CW ops.=20
