I enjoy CW a lot as well. I am 16, have been a ham fer almost 7 months,
and am a General. I have never done anything but CW. I have a really
nice 100 watt I-COM a former ham gave me, but I find that I like the K1
better. Partially because My grandfather and I built it, and it is a lot
more challenging to do QRP. 
CW is also a big challenge. My speed is probably about 12 or 13 wpm, but
I want to become a "speed demon." 
If you are considering buying the K1, I would definitely do so as a
reward for your code speed. CW is the best.
