I think you're onto something there Don... That sounds like a GREAT idea. It
would look cool too (like a minature rack mount)
It continues the Elecraft tradition of the modular approach. If offered as
an extra 'option' (ala EC2) it would make the K2 even more configurable. You
could literally go from a one piece, full featured QRO rig for the shack to
a one piece, full featured battery operated QRP rig for traveling.
I'd buy a set (that is, whenever I get around to convincing myself I need a
K2/100 & KAT100 ;)

I had another idea. How about new side panels that fit the K2/100 and KAT100
to make the whole thing one piece. If you removed the tilt bail and feet and
mounted them on the KAT100 then you could have minimum spacing between the
K2/100 and the KAT100 and the side panels would screw into the K2/100 and
KAT100 3D connectors making one compact unit.
