And, Peter, could you comment on the reasons for your choice of a 4:1
balun? I note that the addition of a switch could readily change it to a
1:1 current balun.

For many if not most applications feeding ladderline, for example, to a
multi-band antenna, the input impedance of the line varies wildly with
frequency. On several bands, the input impedance can be quite low and a 4:1
balun only makes this a more difficult load to tune. I use 1:1 current
baluns with three different multi-band antennas and find no problems on any
band, although the line input Z is down around 10 ohms or less on a couple
of bands.
