Tnx to all of those who have responded so far. Sound like Scott and I have
the exact
> same problem. To clarify the problem, SSB FL1 OP1 is barely usable and FL2,
> FL3, FL4 are much louder even though *narrower*. In my case, I don't rule
out a hardware problem so I'll look for the usual problems. I have not done
the mod to smooth out the SSB ripple and yes that will probably equalize the
pitch but can't fix the poor gain.
I had fun with the Spectrogram software and found it to be helpful in
tweaking the center freq, although I was not far from the recommend BFO
settings.
So Tnx again for the info and please keep those troubleshooting ideas
coming...
