[Elecraft] Deflux?

Having worked in the electronics industry for many years, it has
always been normal practice to clean flux off pcbs after work. It is
seen as bad workmanship to leave it there, and even (now I am in the
TV servicing trade) a give away to others as to what has been
repaired. I have never ever had problems with damage to components or
plastics as a result of cleaning.

But I am staggered at what has been suggested for flux removing!
Forget about using various concoctions from your local drug store or
corner shop. The proper materials are available for the job. I use
Electrolube Fluxclene (FLU400D) - I imagine an equivalent is
available in the USA. This works well, but admittedly not as well as
the old, now outlawed, Freon. Get it from your electronic component
distributor. Don't use a cut down paint brush, proper brushes are
readily available from the same source, which cost peanuts and are
less likely to cause static damage.

My K2 was cleaned in this way and is working fine. There is nothing
wrong in cleaning flux provided it is done properly.
