Well, after chasing my strange ALC issue for quite a while, it was
suggested that I send the unit to Gary @ Elecraft support to see if he
could find the problem.

I just got K2/100 #2490 back today and all I can say is "WOW!" Gary went
over the rig with a fine toothed comb and found the problem to be C38 on
the KSB2. It was the "original" value of 2.2uF but, the rest of the KSB2
had the values for "improved ALC action for PSK31". This severaly
shortened the RC time constant for the ALC and was the source of the
"choppy audio" and low average SSB output problems I was having.

Gary aligned the rig, set up all of the filters with Spectrogram,
calibrated C22 on the control board to WWV at 10MHz, peaked all of the
band-pass filters, and on and on and on!

All I can say is, even if I hadn't had any problem with my ALC, the rig
would have come back to me in better operational condition than when I
sent it in.

See you all on the bands!
