[Elecraft] K1 TX alignment problems

Hi

Set the output to 2 watts like the manual describes then tune for max out=
 and go out of tune and then back into tune. This allows the ALC circuit =
to readjust to your tweaking. You must do the alignment in the order list=
ed in the manual because the circuits interact. The filters are very shar=
p and all of the adjustment for each band interact. You may have to go ov=
er the adjustment several times to get it peaked up. If you can not get t=
he upper 2 bands to adjust you may have a problem on the filter board. Lo=
ok for a bad solder joint on one of the toroids or a wrong part value in =
the filters

Subject: [Elecraft] K1 TX alignment problems

ok, I have read this part over and over and done it a few times and i sti=
ll =20
dont get it.

on page 46 of the manual in the prep part i do just fine. rig is connecte=
d to =20
a coax jumper that connects to an OHR dummy load. Rig is connected to =20
paddles. Turning on is fine, and set power to 2.0 watts is ok. Then =20
everything is wishy-washy.

i go to 10 MHz band, put in tune mode, and adjust to 2.0 watts or the max=
 =20
watts? i have seen it jump to 3. something. I usually have adjusted it to=
 =20
2.0. I go of TUNE and go to 7 MHz band. Go to TUNE and adjust to 2 watts.=
 I =20
get out of TUNE and go to 18MHz. I cant adjust to 2.0 watts. Highest it w=
ill =20
go is .7-.8 watts. Ditto with the 14 MHz band. For practicality i change =
OUT =20
power to 5 and enter tune in each band. When i enter TUNE i get 2.0 watts=
 in =20
the first 2, and .1 or something for the other two.

what problems am I having? any ideas?
