[Elecraft] Tuning Knob for K2?

The FT100 knob is a *direct replacement*, however you have to break out a
plastic post that is centered in the knob shaft hole, if I recall
correctly. This is easily done with a small screwdriver, otherwise the
knob is an exact fit. You can just buy the rubber "belt" that encircles
the knob -- others have reported that it fits nicely over the stock K2
knob. The FT100 knob is heavy but in one old post, was described as
slightly lighter than the stock K2 knob. The real plus is the dimple for
finger tip spinning and the elimination of the relatively sharp edge on
the knob thus increasing overall comfort.

Quoted below from an old post...
"The phone number [Yaesu Parts] is 562-404-2700 and the parts are Ft-100
main VFO knob -
RA006800B ($8.87ea) and RA0068200 [rubber knob ring] ($4.06ea) plus
shipping ($4.00
minimum). They take plastic."

Don't be surprised if they ask "Is this for a K2?". It seems that this is
a popular "upgrade" for an otherwise excellent radio. The bizarre thing
was Yaesu parts even told me they had received 15 - 30 orders a day over a
period after the K2 was introduced!

I did this upgrade in January, and have been happy. The only possible
complaint is that Elecraft hasn't changed the stock K2 knob -- in spite of
many comments in favor of a "FT100 style knob".

I am new to this REFLECTOR

Is the Yaesu FT 100 main tuning
knob a direct replacement for K2
main tuning knob? same diameter
shaft ? Does it feel superior? heavier?

thanks
