What I was referring to specifically, was discussed around six to eight weeks
ago and generally subscribed under the subject "Muddy SSB." That, I believe,
referred to RX and XMIT, although mostly the latter. From the responses, I
gather that poor
XTAL's were primarily to blame, and then mostly on a sporadic basis or in
early release K2's. Although I realize the superiority of CW for
communications vs. SSB,
I still would like to have both modes available and in working order.
Your comments about the successful use of the basic K2 being an entirely
viable rig, definitely has affected my thinking on the need for a KPA100. It
sounds like I'd be
better off investing in a KAT2! Also, you also supplied me with an excuse to
get
a K160M -- if I string enough wire and the band is open.
TNX to you and all the others for your comments.
