My K1 lives!  Serial Number 1302.

I was worried about attempting a kit.  Even contacted a fellow (Jerry -
WA2DKG) to build it for me.  In the end decided to give it a go myself.
Nice knowing Jerry would help out if I got into trouble.

All my worrying was for nothing.

Started Friday afternoon and finished the filter board - no problems.

Friday evening made the front panel board - no problems.

Saturday afternoon and evening completed the RF board, Part I - no problems.
It can hear.

Sunday morning finished the rig - no problems.

Everything worked from the start.  Just amazing.

What a great radio.  The receiver is quiet and sensitive.  It can hear
everything my big rig can hear, but has a much lower noise level.

As for transmit, I have a 200' center fed wire up 40' for an antenna and
worked the following Sunday night after completing the K1 in the morning -

20 Meters
KA4IFF/M (County Hunters),  NF0R (MO),  N0BN (CO),  OE2REL (Salzburg,
Austria)
40 Meters
K3DQ (MD),  W8CDA (OH),  VK2BKH (Sydney, Australia).

WOW!  It's going to be hard to get better than this.
