Purchased an AES model PCL-1 Speaker a couple of months ago to use in my
truck. It is advertised as reducing hiss and static and shielded so can be
used around computers, etc., and is weather resistant. Freq. range 300-5kHz.
It works very well in my mobile setup and so far performs as advertised.
Brought it in the house and hooked it up to my K2 one night when storms were
abundant. Stations that were difficult to copy because of static were very
readable with this speaker. Cost is about $20 + shipping from AES.
Don't have a Motorola to compare it with. Maybe I will someday.
Two of the best speakers I have ever had were the one in the PS of my
National NCX-5 and the one my dad used which was the matching speaker for a
National NC-173 RCVR, hooked to his Paragon 2.
