Subject: [Elecraft] Why not trim relay leads?

Hello,
could someone please explain me why trimming of
relay leads may cause unreliable mechanical operation?

Thanks, 73
Thomas

In many relays the stationary contacts are simpoly an extension of the
external terminals and are generally supported in plastic. Cutting the
external terminal can distort the contact's position relative to the relay's
armature. If the relay is soldered to a thick PC board there should be
little problem with trimming the excess terminal material.
