[Elecraft] K2;trouble with ptt line?

Ok K2 guys , I need help...

The problem just started during an outing Saturday as follows; After
inserting the paddle into the rear key jack while in SSB ( or removing
it sometimes ) the audio / sig rx will drop to about 1/3 of normal
level. Not completely off as if in tx state, but more like an
attenuation.
A press of the PTT or a key hit returns it to normal.

So I would guess it's in the PTT line as the paddle plug temp shorts the
jack pins when going in (or out ) as also the mic PTT clears the
problem.... but where to look from here?

Anyone else seen this?
