Hi Marie and others,
I am sure that this pack, in the internal section, would be able to fit
both the K2 and the FT-817.
Right now, I have just the K2 and SSB option. I have taken two used ELT
batteries, and Duck taped them together. I put them in parallel to
increase the current, and leave the voltage at 14.4V. Go to a place
where they work on airplanes, such as a hanger on an airport, and ask for
throw away ELT batteries.
I put my batteries in first at the bottom, then I set my K2 in the padded
pocket and it sits right on top of the battery, and the biggest knob is
still level with the top of the pocket.
Then infront of that I put my MFJ tuner, which is about 5--6" wide by
2-3"high by 6-7"deep. This leaves room enough for the K2 Manual and a
Yaesu Logbook. The width of the pack is that of taking 2 inches off the
horizontal length of the K2 Manual.
