Actually is is a little letter "A", for Anderson.

Left, right, top, bottom it doesn't matter. pick one and use it. The
beauty of the Anderson Power Pole is that they can be rearranged as
needed should the need arise. That is why some people don't bother
with the locking roll-pin.
