Hi Sandy:
I have the built in antenna tuner for the K2. It will handle an
imbalance of up to 10:1 SWR. That is a VERY large range. I would suggest
you look at the specs for the K1. Then compare it to any of the built in
antenna tuners in the Kenwood line, for example and then decide. It is
just simple physics. I notice that the newly marketed Alpha Delta
external tuner is retailing for $399.00. It also handles up to a 10:1
SWR mismatch.

Hello all.
    Looking for some comments about what kind of antennas the KAT1 will
handle.
"Long" wires, whips, loaded antennas, slopers, dipoles coax and ladder
line fed(w/balun)?  How was performance, limitations, caveats, etc.
    Don't want to invest the bucks in it unless it will do what I want.
    Comments/criticisms/etc. welcomed.
