[Elecraft] Quiet Bands

Catching up on the postings after being on the road and had to chip in about 
the 
quiet band conditions.

My wife and I just returned from a week-long visit with our son, 
daughter-in-law, and
grandson in Illinois.  I didn't take my K2 (s/n 2152) along this trip and 
needed to check
whether it still worked when I got home.  Fired up about 11pm local Saturday 
night 
and also thought the bands were very quiet, but worked 5R8FU in Madagascar and
then FR5FD on Reunion Isl, both around 2330Z on low end of 20 meters.  Both 
gave me 569, they were running about 579 here in CT.   Also heard ZL2TW, only 
about 539 - but he didn't hear me....  
Had the K2 running at 5W into a 3 element Wilson yagi at 45-feet that I 
recently put up.
