[Elecraft] Balun with a G5RV?

  I have an article written by Louis, G5RV where he states that use of a 
balun is not recommended although it was in his original design. To quote:

" ...However, later experiments and a better understanding of the theory of 
operation of the balun indicated that such a device was unsuitable because of 
the highly reactive load it would see at the base of the matching or make-up 
section on most HF bands..."

I do not use a balun with my G5RV.
