Hello everyone,

Please consider this scenario:

The WX is really nice outside in sunny California. Your XYL decided to
throw
a BBQ party in the backyard so that you and your children can enjoy the
sunny
weather. However, there is a small problem. Your favorite CW DX contest
is on.
The solar flux index shot all the way up to 250. You can work as many DX
stations
as you run into across the HF bands. Should you:

1. Shut the radio off and go outside to the backyard to enjoy a nice time
with your
family.

2. Leave the radio on a frequency hoping some DX will come by and call on
your
frequency. You then need to run back into the shack as fast as you can
before
anyone finds out that he is there and try to make that DX contact.

3. Fire up the K2 controller laptop equipped with a 802.11 PC card,
K2Anywhere
software, remote logging software, put on a wireless 900MHz, then take
the laptop
with you outside to enjoy the BBQ party and the contest at the same time.

I really like to do (3) and have been thinking much about it since
release the
pre-beta version of K2S software in January. I am still working on that
idea off
and on (depending on my workload) I now have a version of
K2Server/K2Anywhere
software that functions identical to the K2S software and also allow me
to control the
K2 remotely using a setup similar as described in (3) The software still
needs a little
bit more work before I can release it.

What I really need help on is the logging/score computation portion of
the project.
What I like to see is someone who is an author of an affordable Windows
version
of a contest logging software to interface with the K2Anywhere via a set
of Windows
message APIs. The communication protocol is already written and tested. I
can
publish the protocol to anyone who is interested in developing a logging
application
that will "talks" to K2Anywhere.

What do you think?

Tnx es 73,

Dan, KE6D
