Hi
The models you listed are no longer made by Fluke. If you can find one us=
ed or surplus any of them would be great. I have an 8050 that is about 15=
years old and it is my main bench meter (4.5 digits). The only problem i=
n 15 years of continuous use has been the NiCad batteries have been repla=
ced twice. You may want to check if Fluke still supports the meters you l=
isted. If not parts may be hard to find and you may want to make sure bef=
ore buying one. I also have the 12B, 57 temperature meter, 87 and 88 auto=
motive Fluke hand held meters. The handheld meters are more useful in the=
field I wouldn't want to try to haul the 8050 around in a tool box. The =
87 has cap ranges but any time I need to check a cap or inductor I use th=
e AADE L/C meter I got from Morse Express (www.moresex.com). This meter i=
s dead on accurate and is very handy. It is also a kit and fun to build. =20

Subject: [Elecraft] Recommended Fluke?
Just ordered a K2/KSB2 and I'm getting myself organized for the building.
My Simpson analog meter is working fine but my digital multimeter isn't s=
o
I'm looking to pick up a used Fluke (I'm thinking bench model). Any advic=
e?
I'm thinking along the lines of an 8010, 8050 or maybe even an 8800. Any
recommendation and/or particular model I should consider ?
Also, I've never had a VOM that measured capacitance... is it a worthwhil=
e
function?
Thanks,
Mike
