How about "...as heard by yourself?". I'm assuming that you are talking
about SSB transmission...
Do you have or have access to a receiver that tunes an amateur band and is
equipped with a BFO for SSB reception?
That and a simple tape recorder can tell you more about your signal audio
quality that all the on-air reports in the world.
You can hear yourself well enough to tune in your own signal "on the nose"
using phones on the second receiver and running the K2 into a dummy load.
Then hook up a recorder and do some testing into the dummy load, and play it
back.
As for getting the second receiver tuned "on the nose", do the same thing
you do when tuning in a CW station to "zero beat" using the SPOT control.
Only this time you listen to your voice in the 'cans' while talking or
humming into the mic. You will hear the same sort of 'beat' between your
voice conducted through your head and what's in your phones as you get very
close. Humming is probably easier than talking, although you will hear the
'beat' even when speaking. Tune for "zero" and the second receiver is
exactly on frequency.
You are to be commended for checking your audio. I've heard several K2's on
the air with absolutely GHASTLY audio - tinny and thin or muffled and bassy.
It could be their mic or, more likely I think, they have mis-aligned their
OPT1 filters.
