I'm using a 10 cell pack of 1800 mAh NiMh cells (external) on my K1 and they
work great. It's simpler to charge them if you use a current limited power
supply to charge them all together in the holder, I would suggest using a
series diode for charging as it prevents the cells discharging into the
power supply if the supply fails short circuit.

The voltage, as displayed on the K1, is typically 12.2 to 12.5 volts.

Next project is to build 10 cells inside the K1...
