[Elecraft] M3LOK questions

Hi all,

I have a few questions:

1.)
If I use XIT, how do I know what frequency I'm transmitting on? I can
understand RIT, but with XIT I can't see how the frequency is displayed?

2.) Hopefully I will soon get the KAT2 module, I understand that for
open-feeder type antennas a '4:1' balun is needed. I know there are designs
about, but does the balun just attach to one antenna jack (ie one per
antenna) or does it need to connect to both jacks?

3.) I know that a resistor can be changed on the SSB module to change the
mic gain. Would it be possible to remote mount a variable resistor (or
switch with several resistors) on the case, so that the gain can be changed
at will? Or would the long wires be affected by RF?
