[Elecraft] K1 Speaker Grill Cloth Mod

The way this speaker grill cloth thing got started was when I bought a pi=
ece for my two K2's and K1 because the speaker magnet had picked up some =
component leads from my bench and were rattling on the speaker cone. The =
cloth was about 34" x 39" enough to do about 70 to 100 radios. I liked th=
e way it looked on my radios so I made up a set of instructions and offer=
ed the kit with a piece of cloth large enough to do two radios to any Ele=
craft radio owner for the cost of the postage. I am on my third piece of =
cloth and I have sent out over 100 of the kits.

If you use my kit or get your own cloth the secret to a good installation=
is to use a spray contact adhesive on the inside of the top cover so the=
cloth sticks to the cover and does not touch the speaker cone. I recomme=
nd 3M #77 spray adhesive but other types may work as well. If you use som=
ething else you may want to test it to make sure it won't attack the K2 p=
aint or the cloth.

I will be happy to send anyone a kit. I still have plenty of cloth. A few=
people included a $1 with their request for the kit so I used the money =
to buy more cloth. Thanks to all even though it was not required.

(snip)
The only problem is that for the $1.50 or less that you'll spend for a
sheet you'll have enough to do 20 or more Elecraft speakers.
