Mike asked:

"I have a question on the preliminary test readings on my K1 sn 998
(Actually, it is more a question about taking the ohm meter readings with my
digital volt meter)

For the test points that should read >100k Ohms, I get different readings
depending on what scale I am reading on the ohm meter."

That's very common. The voltage and current supplied by your ohmmeter varies
with the range selected. Whenever transistors, diodes, etc., are involved in
the circuit, you will see different resistance depending upon how much
voltage you are applying to their junctions.

Modern Ohmmeters designed for solid state gear won't cause any harm, but
this is exactly why older 'vintage' Multimeters are very dangerous around
solid state gear. They are quite capable of destroying any solid state
devices in the circuit when conducting a 'resistance' check.
