Hello to all of you  - 

I was surprised to note yesterday that I got my K2 back in April, 2001.
I have built other projects in betwen then and now etc etc etc......so
this is a slow build. One of those in betweeners was the 4 band K1 board
- man I love that little critter. 

Anyway, this slowness created some confusion for me last nite. I have
the basic RF board, control board, ATU, and 160 board installed, aligned
and working wonderfully. Last nite I finished the SSB board and am ready
to install.

Question 1: I made the Sinewave Sidetone mod. Somewhere along the line I
decided to put the ground wires for X7-X11 on BOTH sides and soldered
them 1/2 way up the side of each canister. The SSB board still fits of
course. What's bothering me is I cannot find the mod notes which caused
me to do this. Does anybody recall where I might have got this idea?

Question 2: It appears that I did not make the CW Filter Ultimate
Rejection Mod by KO0B. That mod suggests connecting the ground wires to
the top of the canisters. Frankly, I don't really want to redue those
ground wires again. It does not strike me that this is a terribly
necessary mod and so far the cw portion of the K2 is heaven. Is there
any compelling reason to make this mod I should think about?

Question 3: I have built BUT NOT INSTALLED the SSB board. Any reason I
should not go ahead and do the Frequency Roll-Off mod before completeing
installation of the SSB? I'd like not to have to go thru using
Spectogram twice, etc.

I shall await the Wisdom of the Gods. Thanks folks....you are all
