[EIDXA] Donation to "Amateur Radio Algerians Association"

Fellow EIDXA Members,


Rich - W3ACO received an email from Vlad - UA4WHX regarding an issue within Algeria that could possibly threaten current and future amateur radio licensing and operations within that semi-rare country.

The funds being requested to stave off the eviction of the ARA is minimal (at least by most ham standards) but who knows what the long term consequences could be (no more amateur radio operations from Algeria??). The group appears to be doing everything they can before asking the DX community for help. They have renegotiated their rent and sent out letters of appeal.


Our club by-laws allow expenditures up to $100 (per expenditure) to be made without membership votes (between club meetings); therefore, EIDXA has made a token contribution of $100 to help preserve amateur radio in Algeria for at least the foreseeable future. Rich sent UA4WHX the donation via Paypal in EIDXA's name and we are recognized on the web site (http://dx-world.net/perilous-state-of-amateur-radio-in-algeria/)
