Thank you to all who responded to the newsletter survey either through the
google form or directly via email. So far, I have just under 25
responses. I'll leave the survey open for awhile longer but I have enough
to get started.

It's clear there is high interest in reading about what's going on with
members across not only DXing, but contesting and other radio activities we
enjoy. For example, I have offers for articles on antique radio
restoration or raspberry pi programming.

It is also clear I have big shoes to fill as Jerry has done a great job
during his tenure as editor. Thanks, Jerry.

Newsletter content is only as good as what members are willing to
contribute so to stimulate ideas for content I'll share with you a new
newsletter outline.

We'll keep the President's and Vice Presidents columns, member news, member
spotlight, DX news and a section for feature articles.

New sections will be (in no particular order):

"Musings from the lunatic fringe" - an on again/off again column from your
editor when I have something to say.

"Logbook" - Send me your RTTY, SSB, CW QSOs from the prior three months
that you think others would find interesting. I'll put QSL pictures here
as well. If you reach a new milestone in your country count, pass it along
and I'll publish it.

"CQ Test" - A section on contest scores either what is submitted to me or
what I find published on 3830. I'll publish any soapbox comments along
with the scores. I always like reading other's perspectives on how the
contest went. (For full disclosure I got a sneak peek at the contesting
survey)

"QRM" - A place to publish any other little tidbits that come my way.

Finally, a few members thought a consolidated local calendar of upcoming
events would be useful. So I'll give it a try.

I plan to publish the January newsletter shortly after the first of the
year. Feel free to start feeding me material. I've already received some
contest scores and RTTY logs.

Keep those cards and letters coming!
