[EIDXA] EIDXA Logo

Having been the coauthor/instigator of the logo, here is the story. The original EIXA QSL cards were printed at a big local operation where I had some very good connections. Originally the logo was single color so it could be printed on our QSL cards in blue along with the standard report form, PSE QSL TNX, and the ARRL logo. The basic card was the same for everybody and printed in bulk by the thousands. Individual calls and personal info (name, address, county, awards, etc.) were printed with another press run in red. This was done to minimize printing costs for the 2 color card. So that is how it came to be.
Remember this was all done in the prehistoric days of camera ready paste up master copies and photo negatives. I sent W0SR the original artwork and negatives shortly after I moved here so if you want to take a trip back in time to see what that looked like talk to Jim. In today's world it would have been done very differently on a computer and in no doubt in full color. Interestingly the Lone Star DX Association logo (www.lsdxa.org) is a much later vintage and is multi-color. It may be time for EIDXA to do a logo upgrade.
Hope you guys are staying warm. I miss y'all and the EIDXA camaraderie but was 66 degrees and sunny in Dallas today so I don't exactly miss the Iowa winters. HI
73,
Dave, W0VX

Agree. Red for the official logo. Black only when necessary.
