[EIDXA] Working K1N on CW

I've got the P3 panadapter for my K3. While it is helpful when chasing split-DX, the fact that it's not so uncommon anymore means that good DX ops will jump around more, because what you see if you watch the scope is a dogpile on the *exact* frequency that the DX just worked-because so many people have something like that now, so really, the same skills of listening to the DX, getting a feel for his pattern are still the key to getting in the log quickly and efficiently. I don't think my P3 alone helps bust pileups. The great thing is that people use this sort of stuff as a crutch for unknown or poor operating skills and they'll be busy calling where the DX isn't, allowing me to get in the log that much quicker.

What was more concerning to me is that about 5 or 6 years ago during SS-CW, I worked and worked with 100W to work a sweep. I think I fell short by about 3 sections--the usual suspects. I heard from a friend, W7II, that there was an operator in Idaho that he'd heard about that had worked a sweep with no knowledge of code. The guy had worked a sweep with a code reader, a mouse, and spots alone.

Now if K1N had used CW Skimmer/Flex SDR and a big display, it would have been possible for Glenn to pull out the W0’s with little effort. Maybe the next DXpedition?
