EIDXA meeting minutes January 16, 2015



Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM CST by Jason Joens, NR0X



  1..  There were 39 hams in attendance
  2..  2014 Annual financial sheet was reported and the January 2015 
checking account balance sheet was also shown.
  3..  The October 2014 meeting minutes were noted and included in the 
January 2015 Newsletter.
  4.. Three new hams were voted into membership, Willy Robison KC0JFQ, Joe 
Leto, W0IW and Ed Guzis, W9TW.  Congratulations to all.
  5.. A spreadsheet of upcoming DXpeditons was shown.    There was a short 
discussion of an effort to activate Bouvet. After some discussion it was 
decided not to contribute to any of them.
  6.. Three members were appointed to the DX committee which is empowered to 
make recommendations to the group for future contributions. The DX committee 
includes, Glenn, W0GJ, Joe, K8OM and Rich, W3ACO.
  7.. Rich, W3ACO, asked for an audit committee to be formed to review the 
finances of EIDXA. The audit committee consists of Tom, WB8ZRL, Rick, N0YY 
and Bob, W0GXA.  A meeting time and place will be arranged in the near 
future by e-mail.
  8.. Repeater and Packet report: Tom,  WB8ZRL reports both are working 
fine.
  9.. Glenn, W0GJ gave a brief preview of Navassa Dxpedition coming up 
between Feb 1 and  Feb 15.   He also gave hints to be successful at 
capturing K1N for an ATNO.  We need to listen !  Frequencies will not be 
published nor will the Club Log leader board be used.
  10.. After a short break, a video of the VK0IR 1997 Dxpedition to Heard 
Island was shown.  The effort of those who participated was remarkable.
