[EIDXA] Waht are you seeing DQ

Hey All,
      It seems like every night of the K1N around sunset (gray line) the 
band opened up from S0 - S1 to S9 then I could work the heck out of them for 
about a 15 minute

window then the band drops out or something drops out. I normally run about 
60 watts all the time except in big pile ups then the Alpha is kicked in 
running about 1100 watts to 900 watts in to tribander.

4 years ago the tower was cleaned off in the winter and antennas replaced in 
the Spring with a new Cushcraft D3W warc dipole, Cushcraft XM2-40 and

WB0MCO and I rebuilt the KT-34 XA with the rebuild kit from M2 and new 5 KW 
balun from Array Solutions.  500 feet of new Belden 9913F installed, new 
Belden Rotor cable and new 6 port antenna switch

from Array Solutions. Plus all new Belden 9913F cabling inside the house and 
Polyphaser grounding equipment inside and outside. So I am not sure what's 
taking place that's way I was asking

like something was going wrong but I don't know what.  The weird thing was 
the K1N was around S0 to S3 all day yesterday (Sunday) and last night I 
worked E50A and he reported

I was S9 +20 and he was around S9+10 on 20 phone and then I worked 9M2RDX on 
15 CW both around 2:00  GMT. The 9M2 was the only signal on the band I could 
hear and he was just above

the noise level.  Right now at 11:15 PM Monday K1N is S9 +40 on 40 meters I 
almost need to add some attenution 20 dB.  My tower is 72 feet from the 
ground up and 25 feet above the tower is the mast.

I have a 18 foot W9IIX ladder mast plus some 2 inch alum conduit above that 
for the rotary dipole.  The only thing I didn't replace on the multi year 
rebuild was the Drake MN-2000 and Alpha amp.

Plus new Rig in September 2014 Icom 7800 (early retirement gift to me).  The 
old 781s power supply dumped after 21 years of use. Icom just laughed at me 
when I talked to them about fixing or parts.


Here's another wierd thing that has been going on for years:  With Hygain 
(Lincoln special) TH7 old and KLM KT-34XA new same QTH and same height the 
only thing differant is the year it was on my tower.

Both were new out of the box. The KLM/M2 KT-34 was has a standing wave of 
1.5:1 on 15,20 and 1.3:1 on 10 mtrs for the 18 years.

My S reading: S0 to S3 I can hear them but can't normally work them. 
Sometimes this statement isn't true.

My S reading: S5 to S7 talk to them with their report to me of S9 +10

My S reading: S9 +10 talk to them with their report to me of S9+20
