Could it be some of that heavy snow on your XA??  I have a WARC tribander and it was basically out of commission until that heavy snow melted off the driven element.  Thankfully it's back to normal now that the snow has melted.   Steve N0SM

Scott,

Something is wrong.  They have had good signals on all bands, I don't think
hearing them has been a problem.  Sometimes working them can be difficult
because there is still a lot of demand and some difficult pileups.  It may
be the finest bunch of CW operators I've ever heard.  They seem to all do a
great job of pulling out calls from what must be a snoot full of callers.
I've worked them on all bands where I have tried including 160 and this may
be the worst 160 location in the country.  High noise and poor antennas is
not a great combination.

Can you hear other strong signals?  It just all seems so strange.

Good luck with getting it figured out.

73,  Jim  W0SR

Hopefully everyone else is having better luck then I am working the K1N.  I
am wanting to see what other people are seeing too.

Most of the time they are S0 to S1.  Sometimes fading completely out.

I am seeing a lot of fade and low readings with other caribean stations too.
Midwest black hole symdrone or just Henry County?  This has been going on
for a while.

When I do see a stronger field strenght it's fast S0 to S9 and back down in
a hurry within a couple of seconds. This is all carribean stations.

This is with my KLM KT-34XA up 75 feet pointed at them.  It seems like
anything below S3 I can't
work from my Qth. Any station on HF.

I wish the RF police UP and Split people would disappear they are causing a
whole lot of problems.

I wish the spanish or Italitain "Split you idiot guy" , someone close to him
will go over to his QTH and stick 50 pins in he's coax.  I think this guy is
everywhere during the day.  Maybe he need to joint a coffee group now at
McDonald's or Hardees and stay off the bands.  I know he thinks he's being
helpful but he's not.

Many thanks and great job to the K1N guys.

Scott
