Hi Rich,

Today I received the $100 donation for TX3X Chesterfield Island 
DX-pedition...

Thanks to the club for their donation....

The project is on or ahead of schedule depending on the task. The boat 
was out of the water a few weeks ago for a scheduled inspection and 
overhaul. One generator was replaced (scheduled replacement) and she 
passed the inspection with flying colors. Back in the water now and the 
Class B transponder is pinging, you can see her position at TX3X.com

The equipment is packed and ready to go to New Zealand once the ATA 
Carnet is processed and the insurance is arranged.  We have $70,000 of 
borrowed gear from Elecraft, SteppIR, Arlan Communications and a few 
other suppliers so we decided to get it all insured, we'll sleep better 
at night..

We had a team call last Sunday and agreed on the landing spot and tent 
locations....  We'll have 3,000 feet of coax, so we should have plenty 
of separation on this very narrow sandbar...

If I did it right, the attached Google Earth Placemark will show the 
setup area..

Hello All,
Our EIDXA summer picnic is scheduled for Sept 19, rain date Sept 16. at 
the farm, NR0X, Martelle, Iowa.  Start time for eyeball QSOs is 3 PM.  
Brats will be cooked by W0AWL.  Bring your own lawn chairs, beer and 
wine etc.  Side dishes, desserts are are welcome.

For those scheduled to operate CW WW SSB in October, this would be a 
good time to spend an hour or two getting familiar with the radios and 
antenna switching. No sense  trying to learn it during the contest !

Tom,

Some years ago I visited K0RF at that location.  An impressive antenna farm 
for sure.  That was the first time I had ever seen a full sized 3-element 40 
meter beam on the ground.  It was huge and I was impressed.  Since then I've 
seen an 80 meter beam up close and recalibrated "huge"!

I suggest that you do not open the link that NY0V has sent. Apparently 
the link has a bug in the script and locks up both my computers (Linux) 
using Firefox.   I needed to restart the machines.

Yes, that is quite the farm he has there. From what I have gathered from
MWA'rs it was a dryer exhaust fire that started it....not the Alpha!

Another EIDXA'r asked if Chuck is an ex-Collins guy. Anyone?

It looks fine to me (linux, chrome + firefox); I'd check Java or Flash versions for updates or maybe start running adblockplus as I suspect it was a popup or offsite fed-ad with something fishy in it that got you.

Subject: [EIDXA] Repeater TX site - Marion WT

	Friday I got a call from the Marion Water Dept concerning our repeater 
site.   They are about to issue a contract to refinish the water tower 
that hosts our repeater ( and the CAP repeater and a wifi ISP service). 
This involves removing the existing lead paint down to bare metal.  When 
they do this, they wish to not have work around our equipment, feedline 
and antennas.
	Which means that we will likely need to remove the equipment, antennas 
and feedline for the duration.  The work is slated to begin April 2016 
and last at least thru July 2016.
	Although I am willing to assist, I would rather have some else 
co-ordinate with the Marion water dept.

	Stay tuned...
