Marty,

I have used Midwest Technical Services from Watertow, SD Tim Moes WD0FKC
a couple of times and have had excellent service and pricing. It is
expensive t ship these radios around so I have tried to use someone as local
as possible. He has worked on a FT1000MP and a Icom for me in the past. He
is on the web.

Marty,

I have had my TS940SAT repaired twice, the times were about 5 years apart
(2006 and 2011). Each time I sent it to John at LPC Wireless in Florida.
He did an excellent job in both cases and his charges were quite reasonable.
Each time it was a power supply issue with the LV regulator card. In recent
years I understand he has tried to get out of the TS940 repair business,
however he was so good that if I had to have mine worked on again I would
try him first and would try to coerce him into working on it. He has a web
page at http://www.qsl.net/ki4nr/index.htm .

I have a Kenwood TS-940SAT that has been sitting on the shelf for 10+ years.
Would like to give it to my father in-law. Still powers up, but the same
problem exists. It has an intermittent transmit problem.
Randomly the transmit power drops to zero on all bands. The output power
will come back, after it sits unpowered for a few hours.

Miles at AES, Milwaukee has retired and they no longer have a service
technician.

Looking for alternatives, preferably within driving distance of the Quad
Cities. Or a name, that is highly recommended.
