If that is the case, I think that the previous suggestion to export, clear the log, and the re-import is the key; there is an option on import not to do dupe qso's on import may be the trick.
I think when I did it I had imported contest QSO's twice or something like that.
Since you can/should create a fresh logbook, and then import your adif to that, you can avoid destroying your good one entirely until you're done (I can't remember if there are useful fields that aren't in ADIF but are in an HRD log)--I use HRD with MySQL, not the access DB that is the default.
