Congratulations, Nelson. That is quite an accomplishment, especially from a
city lot in the Midwest. When they created the Challenge Award you have to
wonder if there was any representation from the middle USA! Counting
entities on 160 meters creates one level of unfairness but including 6
meters seems ridiculous. Enough sour grapes. The Award was never meant to
be fair--they had most DX contests as a great model for unfairness! Still,
hams build great stations and do their best, even from the Midwest.
You are way ahead of me, Nelson, but you give me hope that I can do
better--except on 160!
73, Jim

As many of you know, I haven't been very active over the past 18 months due
to frequent travel to San Diego. The only entries in my log were the
DX'peditions (Swains, Brunei, Auckland/Campbell, Clipperton, Spratly, Wake,
Lakshadweep, and now Amsterdam, plus Marianna and Guam on 160. That's all
there is. You can imagine my surprise when I uploaded my log through today,
and noticed that I had 2600 Challenge credits, and that doesn't include
Lakshadweep and Amsterdam Qs. I don't hold any allusions about getting much
farther, so 2600 represents a significant milestone.
Nelson, KU0A
