Hi All,
I’m on the West Virginia DX Association reflector (WV is my home state) and there are two WV DXers (W8TN and W8HC) on the NH8S team. Here is a copy of the latest email from W8TN regarding the NH8S status and conditions on the island. I thought this may be of interest to the EIDXA gang.
73 and GL,

"It is 1:10 pm local. Just had peanut butter & jelly on crackers, gatoraid, raisins, and 3 small sugar cookies. Temperature is 127 degrees in the direct sun and 101 under the lunch tarp.
Neither4 Hal nor I gor sick on the boat. It rained for 1/2 hour just after4 going to bed last but really did not cool anything off.
I've been setting up the SSB stations including AC connections. All is ready to go as soon as we finish the rest of the antennas. ai've been staying out of the sun as much as possible but we are all really weak!
It is a 1200 foot hike from the tent where Hal and I sleep to the SSB tent. The CW tent is 1500 feet further up the beach. Our sleeping tent is about 150-feet from where we eat.
Latest estimate is that we may get on the air by 5 pm local time today but no guarantees. Everything is taking much longer than anticipated. Forgive my mistakes as this is a very small keyboard and ai can almost not see the screen in all the sun light.
Several of the guys have "gone doen" from the heat but they are OK after some rest in the shade and some fluids. But, we are having fun now!!!
73 all,
Clark, W8TN"
