Tom,

Great job! I spent about 9 hours just playing around doing S&P. I wound
up with 412 Qs and 268 Band countries for a score of 331k. For me I used
this as a training refresher. I get so used to high rate running that I
need to make sure I can still tune and work stations quickly. I had my
rate meter up over 131 QSOs/ hour even doing S&P so I declared success!

So from my perspective, you will be on top this year as well with your
487K points. I heard you in the fray a few times.

Bands were a bit strange. A=22 on Friday made sure that 160 was poor. I
did not hear or work any Europeans - BUT I did work JA3YBK on Saturday
morning when the A index went back down so things still work as they are
supposed to. 10M was strange as well with western Europe pounding in, but
Eastern Europe weak and thready when they were there. Oh well - no
complaints as at least there was a 10M band to play with! 15M was my
money band this year.

Hope others had fun too!

Rick

[EIDXA] ARRL DX Contest

I don't know if anyone is keeping track of contest scores for the club or
not. If they are, I participated this weekend in the CW test and ended up
with a score of 487,944. This is about 90,000 points less than last year
but, considering I had chemo on the Thursday preceding the test, I am
quite
happy with my score.

On a related note (and a bit of a brag): Saturday, I received an envelope
from the ARRL with a certificate for my participation in the 2011 ARRL DX
Phone Contest. First place in the Single Operator Assisted High Power
class for the Midwest Division.

I heard several other club members in the contest this past weekend.
Anyone else care to report your scores?

73,

Tom - NC0O
