This was just forwarded to me.

Tom was a new hire mentor to me.  There were many of us who profited by 
simply being located near Tom.  As we endured some pretty rough 
assignments, Tom made them bearable with his knowledge, experience, 
encouragement, and jokes.  Tom said that knew only so many jokes that he 
had change friends about every 5 years.  I was lucky enough to be near him 
for about 5 years.

Hi All,

Approximately an hour ago, my husband and best friend passed away.
This is a difficult time for me but at least I am comforted that Tom
did not suffer at the end.  And it went quick...something he would
appreciate! 

We had already established a plan where Tom will be cremated and he
definitely did not want a funeral.  However, once the boys arrive, we
will discuss having a memorial lunch (or something similar) in Tom's
honor...this event may not be in the immediate future...we will let
you know the details/date once we arrive at them so you can pass it on
to anyone you know would have an interest.
