[EIDXA] Interesting news note and upcoming program on SV/A

I ran across this CNN news item on the Mt Athos Enclave and an upcoming
(this Sunday night) CNN TV news program on the monks at Mt Athos.  The
internet article didn't mention Monk Apollo but it might be interesting to
see what they include on the TV segment.

I was very near the enclave a few years ago when I was working at a VOA site
near Thessaloniki on business for Harris travelling with a Greek architect.

He told me a lot about life in the Mt Athos monasteries as he had spent time
in the enclave on a lengthy religious retreat when he was younger.  Quite
interesting to hear about life in an area that was stuck in the middle ages.

 

I don't know when this will air on CNN tomorrow but it would be nice to
catch it.
