EIDXA meeting minutes April 23, 2010

1.	32 operators answered the CQ call. 

2.	Treasurer’s report was read and accepted. 

3.	Introductions were made by all.

4.	New members, Joe, KD0HGA, Joey KD0HFZ and Sam, K0AFN were voted in. 

5. Cliff Ahrens K0CA our division director, talked briefly about US senate
bill 1755 relating to antenna covenants and restrictions. Cliff handed out
copies of statements of support for Senate bill 1755 to get it out of the
House Commerce committee.  Many attendees signed a copy.

6.	 Cliff had a prize drawing for three ARRL books. 

7.	 There was a discussion of EIDXA logos and articles of clothing.   There is
a web page linked to the EIDXA main page.  www.queensboro.com/EIDXA

8.	Short discussion of Joey KD0HFZ and his youth presentation scheduled at the
Dayton 2010 Hamvention.  All members are encouraged to attend his session and
support this young ham!!

9.	Mention of a Hamvention April 24 in Des Moines. 

10.	Rich N0YY, gave a very nice presentation of DX contesting at PJ2T with two
short videos.  Very informative even for those not big on contests.  Skill
improvement and planning were emphasized.  Lots of good advice for those
pursuing DX as well.  Thanks for your effort Rick.
