Joe:

Absolutely correct. As a sys-admin, I see these "phishing" expeditions all the time in the work place--as well as people's home computers. Be very, very suspicious of <any> email that solicits personal information. They're usually not what they claim to be.

Don't become a victim of identity theft!

Subject: Mediacomm SPAM Warning

During last several days, I have received a number of emails, appearing to be from Mediacomm, asking for my account name, password, and date of birth. These are NOT FROM MEDIACOMM. Do not respond to these emails if you should receive one. These are an attempt to get your personal information. Remember, Mediacom, AOL and other internet service providers will never solicit you for your password or personal information. Beware.
