The Washington Area Amateur Radio Club Inc. cordially invites all radio amateurs and their families to our 4th annual…….

Picnic Table Portable Ops & Foxhunt Event!!!

When: Saturday, September 26th, 2009 8AM--setup begins

(Event cancelled for inclement weather. Announced on 147.045+ repeater.) 

Where: Marr Park, 2943 Hwy.92, Ainsworth, Iowa (See map, watch for signs in park!)

Talk-in and updated info on the 147.045 KC0SBF repeater.

All are welcome… Participants or spectators alike!!!!

The purpose of this event is for setting up portable antennas, homebrew or otherwise, portable equipment on emergency power, testing, operating, and comparing equipment for its effectiveness, demonstrating different modes of Ham radio, sharing construction plans and ideas with others.

Are you into QRP?? Bring your Altoids and tuna can transmitters and receivers! Dig solar power?? Bring your solar panels and show others how to do it! Is ATV, APRS, or SSTV your bag? How about working the satellites? Mobile rover? Bring your gear and show others how its done! 

Come join us for a fun family event and have an eyeball with an old friend or make a new one!!

FOOD!! FOOD!! FOOD!! FOOD!! FOOD!!!! * 12PM--Cookout/Potluck. Bring a dish or two to pass and table service (Electricity on-site) Your favorite 2-liter of pop * 

Bring your favorite meat to cook on our grill!

* Other non-alcoholic drinks provided. No alcohol!! Please!!

Door prizes given away!!!!!!

Fox hunt in afternoon!!!!!!!!! tentative. 

Overnight modern camping, fishing, playground, nature center, and hiking trails!!!!

Bring your 2-Meter HT`s and DF`ing antennas!!

Don`t have any equipment??? We have a few you may use!!
