Greetings!
This weekend is part one of the ARRL International DX Contest, the cw
weekend. Beginning at 0000Z ( 6PM Friday night local time) and ending
Sunday evening at 2400Z (6PM Sunday evening), the idea of the contest
is to work as many dx stations in as many dx countries as you can during
the contest period.
Exchange: You SEND: RST & Your State You RECEIVE: RST & dx
station's power
There are several entry categories: Single Operator (Unassisted - no
packet cluster) at one of three levels: QRP, Low Power, or High
power. Single Operator (Assisted - w/cluster) at one of the three
levels: QRP, Low power, or High power. Multioperator - in three
categories: Single transmitter, Two transmitters, or multi-transmitters
The final score is the number of qso points times the multipliers.
Entry submissions must be cabrillo format (which most of the contest
logging programs have) and must be submitted by emailed by 2359Z March
17, 2008 to DXCW at arrl.org <mailto:DXCW at arrl.org> . {Please remember
to mark that your score counts for the Eastern Iowa DX Association
combined scores and to send club secretary George your final score.
This is it in a nutshell - full rules are available online at:
http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2008/intldx.html
Even if you're not a big contester, please make a hundred or two
contacts to help out the club score.

Software - If you don't already have software, your best bet is to
purchase the contest software from N3FJP.. right away!! It's dirt
cheap....something like $6 and it is easy to use and quite good. It is
also easy to load and to set up. website: n3fjp.com The contests
are listed along the left side of the screen.
I'll try to offer a few contest suggestions tomorrow. Steve N0SM
P.S. Please be sure to work the PJ2T guys. They include W0NB and N0YY
from our club!!!
