[EIDXA] DXpedition support

EIDXA,

It has been about a week and I haven't seen any additional comments on this
thread.  Please continue if there are more comments.
As Jim stated, this is what the mailman helps to provide... a means of
discussion outside of our regular meetings.  All members have their
interests and the good thing about this hobby is we often times are moved
into another phase by our fellow members comments.  We had some discussion
at the last meeting about contesting.  This thread is about what level do we
support dxpeditions.  A few members have been on dxpeditions and it is
always interesting to hear about the adventure.  Many members have Top of
Honor Roll, 5 BWAZ and impressive totals in modes and bands.  For many of
us, hearing of a coming up dxpedition will send us to our logging program to
see what bands or modes we need them on .  If we see our log pretty well
filled in .... there isn't to much interested for us even though it may be a
fairly rare entity.  Thus I feel the need of our willingness to show
financial support is somewhat directed by whether or not we need the "click
or clicks".  Maybe we should be looking more at the big picture as a club.

Let's discuss at the next meeting:  1. Leave dues as they are.  Pass the hat
for dxpeditions that we feel have merit.
                                                   2. Increase dues from
$10 -$20.  Appoint a committee of ....say 3.  They will bring news of  up
coming operations and the financial requirements if known.
                                                   3. Increase dues to $25
with same committee and duties as #2.

                                                        Also, when we make a
$15 or $20 individual donation...would we get better publicity for EIDXA by
pooling with                                                         the
club to show a higher level as a club.  OR...I do understand, there are
times when an individual may wait their
own recognition at a level which would list their call on the QSL card for
example.
