[EIDXA] More on LoTW

Cliff and Lew have made some good points and I'm glad to see some discussion
on this completely under utilized list server. Congratulations to Lew on
all of the connections for band countries he has made. I'm sure the 60,000
Q's made a big difference. None of my files from years ago when I did a lot
more contesting are in digital form. And in recent years I've refused to
fight the power line noise and attempt even a modest contest try. So, my
input was somewhere around 3700 contacts. A lot more QSO's certainly
increases your probability of having a "connect" and being able to claim
credit.

And, I agree that everyone should submit their logs. Someone just might
need IA, IL or MO and for most of you will find some needed ones.

Anyone got another idea for a hot topic?

I share Lew's words of encouragement to EIDXA members to submit logs to
LoTW, and to participate in the DXCC program. My point is that DX'ers who
have already earned awards with paper QSLs prior to the start of LoTW should
not expect lots of LoTW QSL credits. But for those in the early phases of
their DXCC "chase", LoTW offers a quick and inexpensive way to earn ARRL
award credits. And LoTW gives contesters a chance to not only make their
logs widely available to awards hunters, but to also participate in the DXCC
program.

Lew mentioned sending your old logs in Cabrillo format. LoTW will also
accept logs in ADIF format. Of course you need to sign either the Cabrillo
or ADIF logs with your LoTW certificate. For those who haven't tried LoTW
yet, here's the place to start:
