[EIDXA] From ARRL Bulletin

Hi Jim,

Cliff and I have very different ways to approach DX awards. While Cliff
did not receive much benefit from LoTW, I on the other hand now have DXCC
on all bands from 40 thru 10 meters. I would probably only have DXCC on
20M without LoTW.

Now, after LoTW, I only need 19 countries on 80M for 5BDXCC. My initial
submittal to LoTW was over 60K QSOs for the database. I even went back to
5.25" floppies (remember them?) where I had to temporarly plug in the 5.25"
floppy drive on an open slot on the computer. Of course Cliff had 5BDXCC
long before LoTW existied.

As a non-DXer and really more of a contester, my 355/332 total is not too
bad. KC1XX did it as a Multi-Multi operation. In the case of K4VX all of
the entities were worked by me as far as I can determine.

Regardless of the route one has taken to achieve 5BDXCC, the award remains
the most prestidous awards in Amateur Radio.

I encourage all members fo EIDXA to submit as many old logs that they have
to ARRL. Cabrillo format please! You may be surprised at the number of
new countries you find.

73,

Lew Gordon, K4VX
