Did Dave feed Mike the info for his column? How ever it happened it hit the
nail on the head for both issues. I'm glad we are see the power companies
terminate tests and decide to put full scale deployment on hold. I would
like to think that Cedar Rapids set the precedent and the hard work by a
few individuals here in Cedar made the difference.

As far as the tax issue, Iowa sales tax code has a clause for "Casual
Sales". If your selling personal property, and not engaged in doing so as
a business , then you are exempt from sales tax. I marked my form as
"casual sales exempt no tax owed" and sent it off. I also sent a letter to
the club president with the same explanation, referenced the Iowa government
internet site where the code can be found as well as suggested a letter of
apology and refund of ticket prices to the fleamarket folks. Ok I'm off my
tax soap box, I know its a BPL forum.
